TECC WILDERNESS HYBRID

The objective of this course is to combine lessons and practices from Tactical Emergency
Casualty Care (TECC) and Wilderness First Aid for agencies that may not have access to
immediate rescue and transport of casualties by primary EMS organization.
 
Course will cover:
Review of MARCH principles
Stop The Bleed intensive
Care under fire decision making
Review actions within Hot, Warm and Cold zones
Delayed transport care
Environmental considerations
Splinting, packaging and pt movement
Benefits of having an embedded Medic
Environment specific med kits and vehicle prep considerations

Drills:
Blood sweeps/patient assessment
Stop the bleed in different areas of the body
Pinned down in and around vehicles
Isolated in a building
Self aid and buddy care in the wilderness
Hypothermia care
Tourniquet to pressure dressing conversion
